Each game names its own anti-cheat, describes its own penalties and runs its own appeal process. This page collects what publishers and anti-cheat vendors say on their own sites, with a link to every source. It does not judge whether any particular ban is correct.
This page is published by Whyper, which sells game software. It is a reference to official policies, not advice on avoiding enforcement. Using third-party software can break a game's rules and lead to penalties. "Not stated" below means the official pages we checked do not say it; it is not a guess either way.

Anti-cheat and appeals by game
What anti-cheat does DayZ use?
DayZ uses BattlEye on protected servers, and players can also choose servers that do not run it. BattlEye describes its global bans as permanent. The DayZ team directs BattlEye ban questions to BattlEye, which takes appeals through its contact ticket. Sources: DayZ team notice, BattlEye support.
Server administrators can also restrict players on their own servers. See DayZ cheats and BattlEye for how a global ban differs from a server restriction.
What anti-cheat does Escape from Tarkov use?
Escape from Tarkov uses BattlEye, as named on Battlestate Games' Steam store page. Battlestate reports account bans issued with BattlEye. For a BattlEye global ban message, use BattlEye's contact ticket. A current Battlestate appeal route for its own account actions is not stated in the sources we checked.
If the launcher shows error 229, read what Tarkov error 229 can mean before assuming the cause.
What anti-cheat does Wardogs use?
Wardogs uses an anti-cheat operated by its developer, Bulkhead, together with the Anybrain SDK. The Wardogs EULA says Easy Anti-Cheat is not used. Bulkhead's enforcement policy describes:
- Community server admins can kick or ban players from their own server only.
- Bulkhead can issue temporary suspensions, single-server restrictions, permanent account bans and hardware bans. Account and hardware actions block every Wardogs online server, including community servers.
- Only permanent account bans can be appealed, by email to [email protected]. Temporary suspensions, server restrictions and hardware bans are final, unless a paired account ban is overturned.
What anti-cheat does Arma Reforger use?
Arma Reforger servers run BattlEye by default, according to Bohemia's server configuration documentation, and server operators can turn it off. Bohemia documents server admin kicks and time-limited or permanent server bans. BattlEye's own global bans are appealed through its contact ticket. An official appeal route for an individual server admin's ban is not stated.
What anti-cheat does War Thunder use?
War Thunder uses BattlEye and Viking. Gaijin says BattlEye replaced Easy Anti-Cheat in December 2024. Gaijin reports temporary and permanent account bans in its Fair Play reports. To dispute an account ban, Gaijin says to contact a Game Master, as described in its ban and chat mute support article.
What anti-cheat does Valorant use?
Valorant uses Riot Vanguard. Riot describes permanent account bans for cheating and 180-day bans for queuing with cheaters, and it documents hardware ID bans. A banned player can submit a Player Support ticket. Riot says a hardware ban can be re-evaluated by ticket, with no guarantee of removal.
What anti-cheat does Call of Duty use?
Call of Duty, including Warzone and Black Ops, uses RICOCHET Anti-Cheat. Activision's security and enforcement policy describes temporary and permanent account bans, and says permanent bans and hardware bans can extend across Call of Duty titles. Only permanent account bans can be appealed, through Activision Ban Appeal. Hardware bans cannot be appealed.
What anti-cheat does Overwatch 2 use?
Blizzard calls its Overwatch 2 fair-play effort Defense Matrix and does not name a separate anti-cheat product in the sources we checked. Blizzard reports account bans for cheating and suspensions for disruptive conduct. Eligible account actions can be appealed through Blizzard Support.
What anti-cheat does Arena Breakout: Infinite use?
Arena Breakout: Infinite uses the publisher's own B.D.C. security program. Its ban notices and security reports describe removal from raids, short-term restrictions, 10-year account bans and device or IP bans. An official appeal route is not stated on the pages we checked, including the security center.
What anti-cheat does Roblox use?
Roblox describes Hyperion as an anti-tamper measure, not as its whole moderation system. Roblox says anti-cheat violations can lead to temporary suspension or, if repeated, a permanent ban, and its cheating policy mentions account deletion. Account moderation is appealed through Violations and Appeals or the Support Form. Creators can also ban users from their own experiences, with appeals run by that creator.
What anti-cheat does SAND: Raiders of Sophie use?
SAND: Raiders of Sophie uses BattlEye, as stated by developer Hologryph and on its Steam store page. In its Steam announcements, Hologryph says banned players are kicked when entering an expedition, and it directs players disputing a BattlEye ban wave to BattlEye's contact ticket with their Steam ID.
What anti-cheat does PUBG use?
PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS uses its own Zakynthos anti-cheat. PUBG's ban policy lists a 3-day investigative ban and permanent bans for unauthorized programs and devices, and PUBG has announced hardware bans. The policy says restrictions cannot be lifted or shortened by contacting support. Whyper does not sell a PUBG product.
Who handles the appeal?
The anti-cheat that detected something is not always the team that reviews the appeal:
| System | Who reviews appeals | Source |
|---|---|---|
| BattlEye | BattlEye, for its own global bans, by contact ticket with the ban ID and game | BattlEye support |
| Riot Vanguard | Riot Player Support, by ticket | Valorant support |
| RICOCHET | Activision Ban Appeal, permanent account bans only | Activision policy |
| Wardogs (Bulkhead) | Bulkhead, permanent account bans only | Wardogs enforcement |
| Defense Matrix | Blizzard Support, eligible account actions | Blizzard Support |
| Easy Anti-Cheat | Asks players of games other than Fortnite to use the game's own support first | EAC appeals |
Before contacting anyone
Save the complete message, including any ban ID, error code, date and account name. Contact only the official route for your game; an appeal through an unofficial site or a seller cannot change a publisher's decision. A product status label, a review or a feature list cannot tell you whether a game will take action against an account.
